Apple the big winner of the Consortium acquisition of Nortel
The acquisition of Nortel went through last week, with a group of companies, including Apple, RIM, Microsoft, and other payment total $4.5 billion for more than 6,000 patents and patent applications for wireless, 4 G data networking Internet, voice, optical and semiconductor technologies. RIM and Ericsson together up to $1.1 billion, which is “deposited” licenses for the patent portfolio to them both.
