Apple 2011 iMac Seagate 1TB HDD Replacement Program Started
There is information for the customer of iMac with a 1TB Seagate hard drive who purchase this device between May 2011 and July 2011. Apple Inc. reported that the device might fail within the drives system and started a replacement program to help the customer change the drive before loss the data.
Apple has contacts several customers through email. But you don’t have to wait until your hard drives fail because Apple Store replaced the Seagate 1TB drive for free.
Apple Inc. explained that the company has determined that a very small number of Seagate 1TB hard drives used in 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMac systems may fail under certain conditions. They also announced that the systems were sold from May 2011 until July 2011. AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) will replace affected hard drives free of charge. You can check your system in this Apple site http://www.apple.com/support/imac-harddrive/ to found that your system is affected or not by input your iMac serial number and click submit.
