AMD Ultrathins vs Intel Ultrabooks
AMD launch the ultra-thin processor to compete with Intel ultrabooks. Rumors point to the entrance of AMD in the fight for the ultraportable market.
In early 2012, the first ultrabooks appear (notebooks based on Intel technologies, processors and storage more economical SSD) market. Announced several months ago, they seemed to find competitors, but AMD said it is preparing ultra too.
Who reported it was not AMD American, but the president of the AMD Australia / New Zealand, Brian Slattery. He says the company and its partners are producing “ultrathins,” which will use the AMD Fusion (APUs are, joins common processing and graphics functions).
Now we should wait for confirmation, so we can be sure that AMD will even enter the fray. Remember that Intel dominates the market for SSDs and, possibly, it will be the storage technology used by the devices.
